Time to Rumble

Although it seemed less rowdy this time around, the Redneck Rumble is an event where unorthodox creativity reigns and there were still plenty of things to catch our attention.

The Volkswagen Bug had quite a big of representation this year – some tough, some shiny, and a Bug pulling a Bug as a travel trailer, window AC unit and all.

Lots of folks brought their homemade and vintage trailers – what’s the Rumble without some old-fashioned car camping, after all?

Lots of ground to cover and walking is an option…but so is something motorized. Like these:

Good old fashioned arm and leg power, also options.

Lots of trucks. Lots of rust. Lots of rusty trucks.

One rusty truck in particular had a screen door, a driving deer, rotary car phone, and passenger side rigged for steering and driving. As the owner mentioned, “you need a tetanus shot just to get in this thing.”

Some great antique vehicles:

Always enjoy seeing fellow bus mates –

And pretty serious race cars. Things get serious when you see the parachute on the back; such as on this twin turbo Model T and supercharged Anglia –

Don’t forget to take a little something home to your sweetheart at the end of the day. Perhaps a nice wind chime for the front porch.

All in all a pretty good day. Until next time!
