If you are into antique toys, “automobilia,” gas and oil collectibles, antique signs and other nostalgic novelties…the Dixie Gas show in Sevierville, TN is a must visit. About a thirty-minute drive from the strip in Pigeon Forge, you’ll find it located on grassy acres dotted with faded wood structures.

There’s everything from individual sellers with a single tarp or a couple of tables to impressive collections filling up large stalls. Antique kitchen goods are located inside.  A historic cemetery sits right across the road.

The big show happens in the spring and fall, generally coinciding with the Shades of the Past car show in Pigeon Forge (Sept 10-12 this year). Chip’s Antiques – on the same property – is open year-round.

If you’re tired, sit down in the shade with a cold drink and a fried bologna sandwich or a BBQ plate from the food stand. Then go look some more, because there’s no way you’ve seen it all yet. Remember a hat, sunscreen, and jacket – the weather is finicky.
